Strong win for in-form Pingelly heading towards grand final in Narrogin and Districts Netball Association

Pingelly’s winning form continued as the Narrogin and Districts Netball Association A1 competition heads towards the grand final.

In round eight played on Saturday, Pingelly 1 came up against Williams 1 and the Panthers powered out of the blocks.

The Panthers attacked the ball fiercely and laid down the gauntlet to Williams in the opening term.

Shooting sensations Sheree Blechynden and Tracey Swami again treated all courtside to a spectacle of accurate shooting throughout the entire match, attracting umpire votes for their solid performance.

Williams defenders Madeleine and Lillian Petchell both worked vigorously against the shooters but were unable to force many errors.

In mid-court there was a new battle between Pingelly’s wing attack Alex Hodges and Williams wing defence Karla Gors.

Both players stretched each other’s skill and determination to assist goals and delay fast transition of the ball.

Williams shooting combination Clare Hardie and Megan Hardie again worked well together and scored from most of their opportunities, but Pingelly’s Chloe Hanson and Leigh Jennings wreaked havoc on any pass which lacked pinpoint accuracy.

It was a great battle between the two top squads but Pingelly’s finished 19-goal winners, 66-47.

Pingelly have won seven of their eight matches this season and sit on top of the A1 ladder.

In the other A1 fixture from the weekend, Flames 1 were resounding 63-37 victors over Olympics Gold.
