Charlie Kirk: Person seen ‘running’ on rooftop as MAGA activist, Donald Trump ally assassinated in Utah

New footage has surfaced online of a person on the roof of a Utah university building in the moments after Trump ally and MAGA activist Charlie Kirk was killed in what authorities are calling a “political assassination”.

Two videos specifically have gone viral online showing what many suspect may be the suspect.

In the first video, before the lethal shot was fired, a man films what he alleges is a man on the roof of the university building, saying he saw the figure run across the roof and move into position.

“(They’re) getting right up,: the person said, filming the roof of a building near where Kirk was shot.

“You’d think he’d already be in place?” another questioned, presumably thinking the person, who appears in a sniper-like position, was part of security.

“So there’s somebody on the roof over there, just saying.

“He just ran from... over there... now he’s right in.

“Just saying.”

The pair used male pronouns to describe the person on the rooftop, however, no gender can be verified from the footage.

In another video, filmed from inside a university looking out over the crowd as the gunshot was fired, a figure can be seen standing on a rooftop, before disappearing.

The two videos have gone viral online, with many speculating it shows the alleged assassin.

Kirk, 31, was attending a rally at Utah Valley University on Wednesday (local time) when he was struck by a bullet in the neck shortly after midday.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox said at a press conference earlier that the suspect was in custody.

However, within an hour, that suspect had been released.

“The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency,” FBI Director Nash Patal wrote on X.

US President Donald Trump, who has survived two attempts on his life, confirmed that Kirk was dead after he was rushed to hospital.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” Mr Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.

“He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us.

“Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family.

“Charlie, we love you!”
