Wirra Hub comes to Hedland

The Wirrpanda Foundation is making its mark in Hedland next month with a pop up event helping Indigenous Business grow and sustain their operations in the community.

Dubbed the Wirra Hub the event will offer one-on-one client meetings for local organisations to build their capacity for business, empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to reach their business goals in a way that is culturally safe and supportive.

Wirra Hub business coach Raylene Belloittie said assisting First Nations businesses was vital for employment and diversity in the sector.

“Aboriginal businesses are more like to employ Aboriginal people - If we can help businesses get opportunities and contracts we know they are going to employ Aboriginal people. That’s going to improve so many lives in the community,” she said.

The Wirra Hub initiative started in 2020 to support Indigenous Businesses throughout WA during the height of the pandemic.

It will open to the public August 3 and client meetings will run August 4.
