A fire near Geraldton Golf Club has sent golfers home for the day, but is not currently threatening any homes.

DFES was notified of the fire near the corner of Pass Street and Eastward Road around 12.27pm today, and has yet to be brought under control, though a DFES spokeswoman said there were "plenty of resources in attendance."

According to DFES there are crews from Geraldton Fire and Rescue, Geraldton Volunteer Fire and Rescue, and Waggrakine Bushfire Brigade - with our photographer on scene also spotting an appliance belonging to the Moonyoonooka brigade.

The fire has been classified as level two which means although serious it should not pose a threat to nearby housing, and DFES has not issued any specific advice for the fire.

Crews are currently putting in firebreaks to stop the fire from spreading.
