The loss of the State’s AAA credit rating has prompted the Premier to warn of asset sales and delays to key infrastructure projects.

The downgrade, by Standard & Poors, came with a warning that the Government was failing to show the necessary political will to bring down debt.

The Government has abandoned Budget revenue-raising measures including changes to the feed-in tariff change on solar rooftops, delayed a “school tax” on children of 457 visa workers and is facing outrage from teachers and parents over its education funding plans and job losses.
