Arson Squad probes Mirrabooka house fire death

The police Arson Squad investigating a Mirrabooka house fire which claimed the life of a person overnight.

Firefighter were called to the single-storey property on Liquidambar Heights just after 2am after a neighbour reported flames leaping from the roof.

It took 12 fire crews almost two hours to extinguish the blaze before they discovered the body inside the house.

The house was gutted in the blaze, causing an estimated $400,000 damage.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but police say the Arson Squad and Department of Fire and Emergency Services is investigating.
