A vehicle has caught fire on a residential verge in West Leederville, prompting multiple triple zero calls and sending six firefighting crews to the scene.
The red vehicle caught alight on Northwood Street at approximately 6.15pm on Saturday, with flames spreading to a nearby tree as shocked bystanders looked on.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said six firefighting crews attended the scene and the blaze was extinguished by 6.50pm.
Footage from the scene shows the vehicle engulfed in flames with emergency crews alarms blaring as they rushed to the area.

PerthNow understands the vehicle, an older convertible BMW, had been owned through a family for generations.
The cause of the fire remains unclear.
Police did not attend the scene.
