Drivers escape injury after car and minivan plunge into Swan River

The drivers of two vehicles have escaped injury after plunging into the Swan River this morning,

Just before 12.15am, a white sedan was found submerged near the seawall along Riverside Drive.

The two people inside the car allegedly fled the scene, leaving Water Police and tow trucks to remove it in the early hours of the morning.

Police investigations into the crash are continuing.

Meanwhile, an Applecross minivan driver was parking when the car rolled into the river, near Canning Beach Road about 11.15am.

Luckily, no one was in the car at the time the van ran into the water, leaving it submerged up to the windscreen.

Police were alerted to assist a second incident about 11.15am in Applecross.
