Milli Lucas, the 12-year-old girl who captured the hearts and minds of West Australians in her battle with brain cancer, has undergone more surgery by acclaimed neurosurgeon Dr Charlie Teo.

An update posted on the website Team Millstar today, revealed Milli is in the intensive care unit and is due to have more surgery on Monday.

“Milli is currently in Sydney with her man Charlie again,” the post said. “She had surgery on Monday and the disease was removed. Milli went back to surgery on Tuesday to release pressure. She remains in ICU and has another operation scheduled for Monday.

“We ask that you keep her in your thoughts and further updates will be provided when possible. In true Milli words, ‘See you soon mate’.”

Milli’s plight came to national attention earlier this year after Today Tonight and The West Australian campaigned to help her family raise the $50,000 needed for her life saving surgery with Dr Teo.

Generous donors opened their wallets, with more than $170,000 raised in donations via the family’s GoFundMe page.

Milli went under the knife in early June, and after a tense wait her family shared a photograph of their young daughter smiling when she woke up from surgery.

She then travelled to Germany for a month-long alternative treatment plan involving daily low doses of chemotherapy combined with hyperthermia.
