The reigning premiers got their season off to a perfect start, with the Wickham Wolves taking a bite out of the Sharks in their round-one clash.

At a packed Wickham Oval last Friday night, the Wolves jumped to a 19-point lead at quarter-time, showing a delayed start to the season had no impact on their strong attack.

But it did not take the Sharks long to respond, cutting the deficit to eight points at half-time on the back of a three-goal quarter.

Unfortunately for the Sharks, the Wolves came out raring to go after the main break, outscoring the Sharks to extend their lead to 14 points at the final change. Both teams fought to the bitter end, with the Wolves proving too strong for the Sharks, taking the win by 14 points.
