Police release photo of alleged attempted kidnapper

Police investigating the attempted abduction of a girl from a school have released a computer-generated image of a man they want to speak to.

Officers attended Glenelg East Primary School, in Adelaide, at about 10am on Tuesday August 9 after reports an unknown man had approached the student at the school.

The man allegedly attacked the Year 4 pupil on a stairwell in the school grounds, attempting to pull her down the stairs with him, but she managed to break free and alert teachers.

The victim described the alleged attacker as being about 180cm tall, bald and wearing a knee-length light blue shirt, black pants, a black face mask and carrying a beanie.

Police also revealed at a press conference that the girl told them he was wearing purple nail polish on one thumb, had a distinctive black ring with bright dots and two earrings in one ear.

SAPOL shared a computer generated image of the man on Thursday.

Western District Detectives are yet to identify any witnesses to the alleged assault, despite having spoken with students, staff and parents who were around the school at the time.

Detectives have also visited houses and businesses in the area and viewed CCTV footage in the surrounding area.
