Bridgetown did all they could in order to remain in the hunt for a top-two finish, crushing the winless Tigers at Rea Park on Sunday.

It was another winter afternoon of discontent for Tigers, who were blown away by the Bulldogs inside the opening half.

Trailing by 73 points early in the third term, the home side’s pain worsened, despite Robert Dawson doing all he could to lift the home side, until they eventually went down 27.17 (179) to 4.4 (28).

Although they are second on the LSWFL premiership table at the moment, Boyup Brook are fast becoming the team no one wants to face — and for good reason.

The Roos, fresh from inflicting Deanmill’s first loss of 2022 a week earlier, continued their barnstorming march to the finals with an emphatic 25.23 (173) to 4.8 (32) win over a shell-shocked Imperials at Boyup Brook Oval on Saturday.

Foundations of the monstrous triumph were laid during the first term, with the home side rattling on eight of the first nine goals of the contest.

With David Cowan one of several key playmakers providing silver service to the forward line, the Roos had no shortage of goalmouth opportunities.

Skipper Ben Thompson finished with five goals in the rout, although he was one of seven players who finished as a multiple goalkicker.

In the remaining game of the round, Deanmill returned to the winners’ circle, after defeating Southerners 16.11 (107) to 10.5 (65) in Pemberton.

Daniel Tamm’s recent goalkicking form continued, booting six goals — a feat he has achieved twice over the past three weeks.

It is a condensed round of LSWFL action this weekend, with two matches scheduled.

On Saturday at the Manjimup Recreation Ground, Imperials will attempt to turn things around when they entertain Southerners, while red-hot Boyup Brook travel to Kojonup.
