South West Police are attempting to identify the driver of a motorcycle who killed a dog while evading officers in Carey Park on Monday.

Police attempted to pull over a motorcycle with the registration ‘KILLERTYRES’ as it was being ridden along Brittain Road at around 3.50pm on Monday afternoon.

Officers activated lights and sirens but the driver failed to stop for police, turning left onto Ecclestone Street and continuing north.

After the evade police intercept had been terminated, the motorcycle collided with a dog who was trying to cross the road at the time.

Th dog died from its injuries.

Officers from the South West Traffic section are appealing for information to identify the driver.
