Nannup is hosting its first Art Trail, which kicks off tomorrow.

Comprising of eight art exhibitions across a range of locations all within walking distance, trail co-ordinator Miranda Free said visitors won’t need a car to get from venue to venue.

“The exhibitions can be found in glorious gardens, charming and quirky shops, cafes and galleries located in historic buildings as well as more intimate home studios,” Ms Free said.

“In contrast to other similar events, once you arrive in Nannup there is no need to use your car which makes for a perfect and sustainable day outwhere it is possible to visit all exhibitions on foot and still have time to enjoy sustenance at one of the town’s great cafes.”

Ms Free said there would be no shortage of creative works.

“An array of sculptures in the gardens of Holberry House created by a range of artists will be on display as well as a range of works from various local artists at Nannup Arts Inc’s Supper Gallery,” she said.

“At Forest Hemp, Nannup’s Soap Shop, there will be paintings, prints, cards, tea towels and soap dishes all related to “The Life Domestic” created by artists Marion Duke and Miranda Free – The M&M Collective.

“ Paintings, woodwork and sculpture created by Mandy Blount and others located in the Tiger Valley Gallery and Giftware shop will also be on display as well as so much more.”

The Taiko on Perth drummers will also be coming down over the second week of the event to perform and host workshops.

The trail opens this Friday and will run until October 4.
