Kununurra’s Tuckerbox newsagency has proven its perpetual luck, after selling a $1.4m ticket in the weekend’s $20m Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

The lotto ticket was among 14 division one winners from across Australia and its owner remained unclear at the time of publication, with Lotterywest confirming the ticket was unclaimed.

Tuckerbox Stores variety supervisor Kathleen Wright said the winning slip was the fourth division one ticket sold at Tuckerbox within the past decade, and the sixth since the store’s establishment.

“Everyone is all excited; people keep coming in and saying they hope it’s a local that has won,” she said.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said the draw took the 2021 tally of division one winners to 37, sharing in more than $83 million worth of prizes.
