A new advertising campaign is set to position the Northern Territory as the centre of Australian Indigenous culture and encourage interstate visitors to head north for the winter.

The NT government "beating heart of First Nations culture" adverts will highlight the Darwin Festival and six other events in August.

"The Territory has always been proud of its rich Indigenous culture, and these events will celebrate everything the NT has to offer," Major Events Minister Natasha Fyles said on Monday.

The campaign will appear across a range of mediums, including print, digital and social media in conjunction with the NT's recently released "Seek Different" interstate brand campaign.

Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards, National Indigenous Music Awards, National Indigenous Fashion Awards, Country to Couture and SALON21 all take place in Darwin in August.
