Kwinana Freeway crash causes traffic chaos in Perth’s south

A crash on the Kwinana Freeway caused traffic chaos for Perth commuters this evening.

Three cars collided just after 6pm, which led to police temporarily closing the freeway’s northbound lanes at Mill Point Road in South Perth.

One driver suffered whiplash and was taken by St John Ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.

The other driver had minor injuries and didn’t need any further medical attention.

A short time after the crash police opened the central lane to allow stranded drivers through the area.

Some motorists were left sitting in their cars for almost an hour.

7NEWS footage from the scene showed police questioning several people at the scene, with multiple vehicles blocking lanes on both sides of the freeway.

It’s understood one attending St John Ambulance crew had came across the incident just moments after it happened, swiftly attending to those involved.

Two cars were towed from the scene.
