Perth traffic: Fallen tree forces Great Eastern Highway lane closures, emergency crews attend Woodvale crash

Cyclone Narelle is causing chaos for Perth commuters on Friday afternoon as the category two system hammers WA.

A fallen tree has forced multiple lanes to be closed on a busy Perth highway.

The tree came down on Great Eastern Highway eastbound at Bilgoman Road in Hovea, causing heavy congestion in the area.

Main Roads confirmed at 5.06pm that police are on scene.

Motorists are urged to drive safely as traffic is heavy in the area.

Flooding in various locations across the metro area has also forced multiple lane closures to be put in place.

Main Roads reported at 5.16pm that Cedric Street before Stephenson Road and Great Eastern Highway after Bolton Street are being affected by minor flooding.

Earlier in Perth’s northern suburbs a crash in Woodvale caused traffic mayhem for commuters.

The crash, which was reported by Main Roads at 3.55pm, occurred on Wanneroo Road northbound at Ocean Reef.

Emergency crews and towing services attended the crash before it was cleared by about 4.40pm.
