Emirates has unveiled what it says is the world’s first electronically powered premium economy seat, complete with a full-height adjustable privacy screen between every seat.
The new seats will feature on the airline’s newly delivered Airbus A350s, giving passengers the ability to raise or lower the privacy divider at the touch of a button.
There will be just 28 premium economy seats aboard each aircraft, arranged in a spacious 2-3-2 configuration.
At 20 inches wide and with a pitch of up to 39 inches, the adjustable seats can recline into a comfortable cradle position without intruding on the passenger behind. They also feature Emirates’ U-Dream headrest, with adjustable wings designed to support the head and neck, as well as a leather footrest.
What’s more, wireless charging is being added to Emirates’ premium economy cabin for the first time, alongside USB-C charging and a tray table with an integrated phone holder.
Entertainment comes via a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen, while the new A350s will also feature additional exterior camera views, giving passengers another perspective on the journey.
Meals will also be served on Royal Doulton tableware with linen napkins and Robert Welch cutlery, while long-haul travellers will receive reusable amenity kits containing Aveda skincare products and other travel essentials.
Emirates has continued to refine its Premium Economy offering since launching it in 2022, and these latest additions should make the step up from economy even more tempting.
