Spanish tenor Jose Carreras will celebrate his 80th birthday with Carreras & Friends, a one-night-only concert at The Gabba on December 5, bringing together an eclectic line-up of international stars for a musical spectacular inspired by the legendary Pavarotti & Friends concerts.
The open-air event will see Carreras share the stage with artists spanning opera, rock and pop, and feature a mix of collaborations and individual performances, backed by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and choir.
The line-up joining Carreras on stage throughout the evening includes Robbie Williams, The Corrs, Ronan Keating, Ann Wilson of Heart, Darren Hayes of Savage Garden, Natalie Imbruglia, Sheppard, as well as fellow opera singers Katherine Jenkins and Mark Vincent.
The event is expected to bring visitors from across Australia and overseas to Queensland, further cementing Brisbane’s growing reputation as a destination for major international artists and events.
Carreras & Friends will take place at The Gabba on December 5. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
