A Port Kennedy family has been left shocked and shaken after a car ploughed into their five-year-old child’s bedroom last night.

Police are investigating the incident, which occurred about 7.10pm, when a Hyundai Sata Fe station sedan drove into the Bayonne Gardens home.

Seconds before the crash happened, the father said he was sitting in the lounge room with his two daughters watching TV.

“I heard this big bang ... the house just rocked, dust started coming from the ceiling, it was just terrible — loudest bang I’ve ever heard in my life,” he said.

“The house started caving in and we met each other in the hallway—me and my wife and the kids were there with us, so we just headed for the front door.

“We were just wondering what was going on ... yeah and there was just a big car, the car went through the bloody window.”

The father-of-two said he was thinking of putting his children to bed, just as the crash happened.

“The car was sitting in the house and there were two people sitting on the side of the house having a fight and all the neighbours came over to help out,” he said.

“Yeah the lady, I think she was intoxicated with alcohol.

“We just stood there nervous and shocked.”

The driver, a woman in her 30s, who was the sole occupant of the car was not injured and is assisting police with their inquiries.
