Rich delicacies in the bag

Rebecca TriggerThe West Australian

Foie gras and macarons aren't generally top of the list when you ask kids what they look for in a Show bag.

But this year's Perth Royal Show top-priced bag, at $280, includes 24 tins of foie gras, a delicacy made from the pureed livers of overfed ducks and geese.

The Jean Pierre Sancho Macaron Show bag also contains 24 edible gold-leafed macarons and two $50 Jean Pierre Sancho vouchers.

This year's bargain hunters can rely on old favourites - the $1 Blinky Bill bag or $2 Bertie Beetle bag. There are 307 Show bags - 83 new - on offer this year including a Krispy Kreme Australia bag and one featuring popular children's characters Giggle and Hoot. For parents looking for a healthier alternative there is a Harvey Fresh Kids Lunchbox bag.

Sophie Catchpole, 10, of High Wycombe, said she looked for value for money and how "cool" the items were when choosing a bag.
