Three sought to serve on national wool body

Countryman

Nominations have opened for three independent directors' positions on the executive of the nation's peak body for woolgrowers, WoolProducers Australia.

President Geoff Power said nominations were invited from woolgrowers who believed they could contribute to national and international policy development and advocacy on behalf of Australia's wool-growing industry.

"WoolProducers Australia is led by a national executive of woolgrowers, predominantly made up of delegates from our national State farming organisation membership," Mr Power said.

"WoolProducers Australia is unique among peak industry councils as our structure also allows for three independent directors to be elected directly by growers.

"Democratically elected independent directors give levy-paying wool growers in Australia the opportunity to be a part of the WPA leadership team."

The successful candidates will be required to become directors of WoolProducers Australia as part of the WPA executive and the positions are for two-year terms.

Nomination forms and supporting information can be downloaded from the WoolProducers Australia website: WoolProducers Australia

Completed forms can be lodged by hand, by post or by email.

Nominations close at 6pm on Friday, October 4.
