Football fans and players look set to be treated to glorious sunshine in the lead up to Grand Final Day with a near perfect forecast predicted for this coming Saturday.

The bureau's official forecast for next Saturday released today shows a sunny top of 25C has been locked in ahead of the historic sold-out match between Melbourne and the Bulldogs.

With bounce down locked in for 5.15pm Perth time, players and fans will still get to bask in the clear sunny skies for the early stages of the match before the sun sets and the temperature drops, just after 6pm.

But the sunny outlook will mean players will be gifted with near perfect conditions to play in front of a capacity crowd of 60,000 footy fans.

The stunning weather will also hang around in the lead up to Saturday’s Grand Final with a warm 27C predicted for Tuesday and an ever hotter 29C on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will be slightly cooler however.

Perth rockers Birds of Tokyo will lead the all-Australian talent lined up for the Telstra AFL pre-match and half-time shows at Optus Stadium on September 25.

The pre-match show will also feature local heroes, including folk-rock king John Butler, ARIA Award-winning trio Eskimo Joe, blues-rocker Abbe May, singer-songwriter Stella Donnelly, acclaimed Noongar duo Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse and sisters Donna Simpson and Vikki Thorn from the Waifs.
