Aussie music sensation G Flip has been forced to cancel their highly-anticipated WA performance due to wild weather.
The 33-year-old was due to perform in Margaret River at 3 Oceans Winery on Saturday but just hours before they were set to take the stage at 5pm, the gig was axed.
“Sad to announce the show today in Margaret River, WA has been cancelled due to adverse weather and unsafe conditions at the site,” G Flip said on a post to Instagram.
“I’m so sorry everyone, I’m gutted to not perform tonight and I can’t wait to come back to WA soon — G x.”
G Flip then shared a video of the stage, showing the grassed area in front completely flooded from heavy rain.
The musician — who uses they/them pronouns — said refunds will be processed early next week for ticket holders.
The Bureau of Meteorology expects the Margaret River region to cop up to 25mm of rain, with the forecast showing the chance of a thunderstorm and strong winds.
“A cold front is weakening as it moves across the South West Land Division with a low expected to cross the south-west corner on Saturday night,” the bureau said.
Residents in the Perth metro area are also expected to cop a drenching, with the bureau forecasting a high chance of showers in the evening and winds up to 30km/h.
