Fremantle Dockers to face St Kilda at Blundstone Arena in Tasmania as finals hang in balance
Fremantle will head to Tasmania for their final home and away game of 2021, knowing a win keeps their slim finals hopes alive.
The AFL has confirmed the Dockers will face St Kilda at Blundstone Arena on Sunday morning from 10.15am.
Both teams will arrive in Tasmania via charter flight, after securing necessary government permissions, and depart immediately after Sunday’s clash.
The Dockers need a win over the Saints, and then need two of the three teams above them — GWS (against Carlton), Essendon (against Collingwood) and West Coast (against Brisbane) to lose to play finals this season.
Fremantle are yet to play at the Hobart venue, while their opponents St Kilda are yet to taste success at the ground — beaten in their three previous attempts this decade.

In a win for the club, players will not need to quarantine on return to Perth from Tasmania as the state remains a very low risk jurisdiction.
“We were informed this morning ( of the trip to Tasmania). We’re looking forward to it,” Freo’s forward Matt Taberner said.
“We haven’t played there yet but expect it to be colder than Perth and a bit windy.
“Ultimately, it’s a football ground.”
Blundstone has already played host to five matches in 2021 — all North Melbourne games as Melbourne and Sydney’s COVID chaos keeps teams interstate.
The Fremantle-St Kilda clash had been scheduled for Marvel Stadium, but was relocated due to Melbourne’s latest lockdown.
