Lachie Neale and new girlfriend Emma Field have put on their biggest public display yet, celebrating together after the Brisbane Lions’ AFL Grand Final victory.

Field, 29, proudly backed her new partner at the MCG on Saturday, watching from the stands in a customised jacket with “NEALE 9” across the back.

She shared photos from the game on Instagram as she watched alongside friends as Neale took to the field for Brisbane.

But it was after the final siren that the couple made an even bigger statement, with Field sharing her first couples photo with Neale, to her own Instagram.

The photo showed Neale embracing his new girlfriend during the Lions’ post-match celebrations, with the AFL star still wearing his Brisbane jersey and premiership medal.

The affectionate post comes just weeks after the couple first soft launched their relationship on Instagram.

Earlier this month, Neale shared a solo photo of Field standing on a balcony, which she then reposted to her own Instagram Stories with a heart-hands emoji.

While Field included an image of Neale in an Instagram carousel but it was not the first photo as the pair aim to keep their relationship non-nonchalant for now.

Field’s very public show of support at the MCG came on the same day Neale’s estranged wife Jules made her own grand final loyalties unmistakably clear.

Just hours before the match, Jules posed alongside a friend wearing a Fremantle Dockers scarf in a photo shared to her Instagram Stories.

The playful show of purple pride came as her former partner prepared to line up for the opposing Brisbane Lions.

It marked a dramatic change from last year’s grand final, when Jules celebrated Brisbane’s premiership victory alongside Tess Crosley, the woman she later accused of having an affair with her husband.

Jules revealed in August that she discovered Neale had been having what she described as an ongoing four-month affair with her close friend.

“I found out through one of the other partners at the club,” she told the Pretty Sure podcast.

“I guess it was an ongoing, four-month affair with my best friend, behind my back.

“It’s the worst feeling in the world, because you’re like, you just question everything.”

Crosley also broke her silence on the scandal in August, sitting down for her first direct interview on Daily Mail’s podcast The Debrief.

“I have made some bad decisions I deeply regret, but I believe that I’m not a bad person,” Crosley said, as she spoke about the fallout from the affair and the end of her friendship with Jules.

Neale previously publicly apologised for his actions amid the breakdown of his marriage.

“I have let my family down, and I apologise for my actions that have let down those that are closest to me,” he said.

Jules has since returned to Perth with the former couple’s two children, while Neale has moved on with Field.

The 29-year-old Queensland advertising professional had largely remained out of the spotlight before her relationship with the AFL star became public.

But there was no hiding her support on grand final day, with her personalised jacket and post-match embrace with Neale marking the couple’s most prominent public appearance yet.

It capped off a dramatic week for Neale, whose place in the grand final had been in doubt after he was handed a one-match suspension over an off-the-ball strike on Jack Ginnivan.

The Lions successfully challenged the suspension at the AFL Appeals Board, clearing Neale to play in the decider.

He was met with boos during Friday’s grand final parade and again at the MCG on Saturday before ending a turbulent season with another premiership.

Neale has now played his final game for Brisbane, closing one chapter of his career as his new relationship with Field increasingly moves into the public eye.
