Forget the orange pumpkins.
This Halloween will be all about the orange of the Scorchers, with Perth to open their WBBL season with a home clash against Melbourne Renegades at the WACA Ground.
The club is hopeful of breaking their all-time WBBL attendance record of 3701 in their first game of the 2026 season at their newly-redeveloped home ground on Saturday October 31.
The Scorchers will then travel to Melbourne to take on the Stars in a game at Junction Oval which has been fixtured to fall on the eve of the Melbourne Cup.
Perth’s other prime-time games at the WACA will come against Adelaide Strikers on Saturday November 14 — a day after Optus Stadium hosts the first game of Australia’s One-Day International series against England — and Hobart Hurricanes on Friday November 27.
While neutral interstate games have been reduced around the competition this season, the Scorchers have three on their 10-game fixture.
They will come up against the Stars again at North Sydney Oval on November 8, play Hobart Hurricanes at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field on November 19 and their final fixture of the home and away season against Brisbane Heat on November 29 will be played at Adelaide’s Karen Rolton Oval.

Like 2025, all three WBBL finals will again be played within a six-day span. Last season, the Scorchers won their way through to The Final from third, but the tight schedule looked to take its toll in their eight-wicket loss to the Hurricanes.
Fewer WBBL games will also be played on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays or in morning timeslots this WBBL season.
Cricket Australia’s executive general manager of Big Bash Leagues Alistair Dobson said the changes would help to ensure the competition “continues to reinforce its status as the world’s best cricket league for women”.
“With more games played across Thursday to Sunday as well as an increase in afternoon and evening timeslots, we can’t wait to see our fans in iconic WBBL venues around the country enjoying the very best of the Big Bash,” Dobson said.
