Local product Giordano Colli won the club’s under-23 Player of the Year having moved from captaining the academy side into a regular A-League starter.

Bruno Fornaroli and Cyera Hintzen claimed the respective Golden Boots and the Goal of the Year went to Antonee Burke-Gilroy for his stunning strike during the round three win over Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park.

Retired striker Andy Keogh, the club’s record goal scorer and appearance holder, was made a life member.

Lachman, 32, has missed just one game in two seasons and has 51 A-League appearances..

“The club offered me the opportunity to play in the A-League and although we didn’t have the best season I want to repay the faith they had in me two years ago,” the Curacao international said.

“Hopefully next season will be better for the team, the club and for myself.

“When I signed my first contract two years ago I said that I wanted to go for the Premiership, the title and that’s still my main goal.”

Lachman re-signed after talking with caretaker coach Ruben Zadkovich, the front-runner to get the full-time job after taking over from Richard Garcia who was shown the door mid-season.

“I want to be a part of his (Zadkovich) plans for next season,” Lachman said.

“That’s one of the reasons I have re-signed. The plans that I hear for next season, it sounds good.”

Glory chief executive Tony Pignata said retaining Lachman was a “huge positive” for the club.

“Darryl has been a model of consistency since joining us,” Pignata said.

“In addition to producing a high level of personal performance week-in, week-out he has also been a very positive influence upon the young players who made up the bulk of our squad last season.”

Former England and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, the much vaunted signing that flopped after he played just 139 minutes in six appearances, did not attend the awards.

Ir is understood he has left his Elizabeth Quay apartment and is on holiday.
