The Ashes: Australian Cricket Team run into England’s Barmy Army while celebrating 4-0 series victory

The Barmy Army is probably the last group of people an Australian cricketer wants to run into at the pub - but that’s exactly who the Aussies found while out celebrating their 4-0 Ashes victory over England in Hobart.

In a video posted on social media, opener David Warner, wicketkeeper Alex Carey and chief selector George Bailey can be seen watching on, beer in hand, as England fans singing God Save the Queen.

It was a bold move from the passionate English faithful, but the Aussies had the last laugh - as they did in the Ashes.

In another video, posted to Usman Khawaja’s Instagram story, spinner Nathan Lyon can be seen singing along to John Williamson’s True Blue before asking Pat Cummins if he can sing the team song, to which the skipper replied: “No, no, no, no, no.”

To finish the sing-off, the Aussies then belted out Queen’s We are the Champions, while Lyon held up the Ashes trophy.

In good spirits, the England fans appeared to sing along. In a video posted to vice-captain Steve Smith’s Instagram, the two groups also engaged in a singalong to Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline.
