They were the star duo behind West Coast’s incredible side in the mid-noughties, and nearly two decades after they last played together, Ben Cousins and Chris Judd have reunited.
In a special sit-down interview exclusively on 7NEWS this Sunday, Cousins interviews his fellow Brownlow medallist and former Eagles skipper Judd to reminisce about the incredible era they were instrumental in.
Judd — who resides in Melbourne — was back in Perth alongside wife Rebecca as part of the 2006 premiership reunion this weekend, with the club holding a special gala dinner on Friday night, before the players form a guard of honour on game day as the Eagles run out to take on Richmond at Optus Stadium this Saturday.

Cousins — who now holds a prominent role in Channel 7’s football coverage — said he enjoyed talking football with one of his greatest teammates.
“I always enjoy catching up with Juddy, it doesn’t happen as much as I would like,” he said.
“Particularly around this week, when it’s centred around our reunion, to be able to talk about footy and reflect on our side and what we were lucky enough to achieve.
“I do like his views on footy, and I like hearing what he has to say. It is a trip down memory lane.”
The pair were the centrepiece of a dynamic midfield that also featured the likes of Tyson Stenglein, Daniel Kerr and Chad Fletcher, which dominated across 2005 and 2006.
Those two years were highlighted by their incredible rivalry against Sydney, with the two teams trading grand final wins.
Cousins said he and Judd’s chemistry was built on years of hard work during good times and bad.
“By the time we were contending we’d spent years together, and we came through a period where we went from a struggling side to one which was good enough to contend. We’d been through some hard times together,” he said.
“While we had some talented players, the foundation of the side was built on hard work and with that comes real proper confidence in having done the work, and it was going to hold us in good stead.
“It was a privilege to be part of that midfield and that side.”
Cousins also gave the fans a sneak peek of what to expect from the exclusive chat between the two future Football Hall of Famers.
“Anytime the footy public gets to hear what Chris has got to say on footy, he has a unique perspective on the game,” he said.
“He arrived at West Coast as an 18-year-old, but even from day one, he was mature beyond his years.
“I was the captain at the time, but always thought I was talking to an equal, and he’s just an interesting, funny guy. It’s worth a look.”
