Located just 10 minutes from Launceston’s city centre, Country Club Tasmania’s new 18-hole championship golf course is poised to add a fresh dimension to Tasmania’s already impressive golfing credentials.

Designed by acclaimed golf course architect Robin Gibson, the par-72 layout draws inspiration from some of North America’s and the UK’s most celebrated courses, while remaining distinctly Tasmanian in character.

Unlike Tasmania’s other famous coastal links courses — including Barnbougle and Cape Wickham — this new offering at Prospect Vale delivers a lush parkland experience, where mature trees, tranquil waterways, stone bridges and strategically-placed bunkers shape each hole.

As part of a recent $20 million redevelopment, Country Club Tasmania has also unveiled a new state-of-the-art driving range and entertainment precinct, offering mini golf, dining venues and social spaces designed to keep visitors lingering a little longer after their final putt.

What’s more, guests can make the most of the wider resort facilities at Country Club Tasmania, including accommodation, restaurants, bars, a spa, swimming pool and a casino.

Former Australian cricket captain and Launceston local Ricky Ponting, who serves as the course ambassador, recently previewed the first nine holes and described the experience as “extraordinary”.

He believes the development will further cement Tasmania’s growing status as a must-visit destination for travelling golfers.

While the golf course remains closed ahead of its grand summer opening in 2027, visitors to Launceston can still experience the property’s new driving range or enjoy a round of mini golf. Those keen to be among the first to tee off on the new course can register their interest and receive updates via the Country Club Tasmania website.
