Denzel Washington draws visitors to quiet Amalfi spot

Steve had mentioned that interest in Atrani has boosted by its appearance in Ripley, the Netflix production based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Talented Mr Ripley. The centre of Atrani was closed for a month for film crews in 2021.

But Alex adds that his host at Ristorante Savo also says that in recent times interest has also been ignited by the visit of Denzel Washington.

Denzel was there when the major portions of the 2023 action film The Equalizer 3 were filmed in Atrani.

Alex adds: “Atrani is also a great spot to walk down from or walk up to Ravello. Challenging, but locals on the way offer self-serve and other refreshments. Genius.”
