Claisebrook Cove in East Perth is a great place to practice your photographic skills.

Last Sunday, a group of West Travel Club members joined Travel Lead Photographer Mogens Johansen for a PhotoWalk around this picturesque location.

This walk was aimed specifically at smartphone users. The morning began with after a brief “tech talk” to help the participants to get the most out out of their smartphones before we got down to the business of taking pictures.

Our focus was to train our eyes to see and create better pictures by using composition techniques like leading lines, rule of thirds and framing.

On our journey across Trafalgar Bridge and around the cove, we looked for different points of views, interesting textures and details to create a set of pictures that captured the essence of the place.

And, of course, we chatted and enjoyed each others’ company.

This selection of the participants’ pictures tell the story of the morning.
