Herd on the Terrace: Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest dangles prize for fully-vaccinated Harvey Beef abattoir workers

It’s good to see Andrew Forrest is putting his boots where his mouth is. He is offering fully vaccinated workers in his Harvey Beef abattoir the chance to win a pair of RM Williams boots, which have a starting price of $595. Twiggy bought the iconic Australian boots company last year. Harvey Beef’s 700-strong workforce is also being offered a $20 meat voucher once they’ve received both jabs. One fully-vaxxed worker has already collected his prize boots in late August. Monthly draws are set to continue. Forrest, who himself caught COVID in central Asia in 2020, told The West Australian last month anti-vaxxers were not welcome at his iron ore success story Fortescue Metal Groups — as their values didn’t fit the company’s culture. The Bull believes Harvey Beef is the only business within Forrest’s stable offering such a lucrative prize. Abattoir workers are considered potentially high risk spreaders as they work in close proximity, but food production is considered an essential service.
