The Department of Agriculture and Food is preparing for this year's Margaret River and Districts Agricultural Show on October 18-19.

The department's Small Landholder Information Service development officer Jodie Bowling said she was excited to have some special children's activities organised for this year's show.

"We look forward to seeing everyone at our stand where people of all ages can participate in some of our free agricultural themed games," Ms Bowling said. "Come and find out more about farming in the South West and learn that it is not only milk that we get from cows."

The department display will also feature information from the Small Landholder Information Service on managing land, orchards and livestock.

"Come and have a chat to us on how to make the most of your small property or get some tips before you make a purchase," Ms Bowling said.

"Visitors can also sign up to receive our free e-newsletters which detail vital seasonal and land management information for both small landholders and producers.

"All registrations will go into the draw to win a fruit tree."

The Margaret River Show is open from 3pm on Friday October 18 and from 9am to 4pm on Saturday October 19 at the showgrounds.
