Ronald Houghton: Identity of man who allegedly produced child exploitation material in Ravensthorpe revealed

A man accused of producing child exploitation material and possessing or copying indecent or obscene articles has faced court for the first time. Ronald Houghton, 58, appeared in Albany Magistrates Court on Thursday, charged with two counts of producing child exploitation material and one count of possessing or copying an indecent or obscene article. All three charges are alleged to have occurred in Ravensthorpe. The 58-year-old allegedly produced the pornographic material between August 14 and September 19 and on October 13. He is alleged to have possessed or copied the indecent or obscene article on October 28. In his brief appearance, he spoke only to confirm his name and that he understood the charges against him. He did not enter pleas. Defence lawyer Eva Svanberg requested an adjournment for Mr Houghton to obtain further legal advice. He will next appear in Albany Magistrates Court on January 22.
