Canning Vale assault: Second teenager charged over violent stabbing and brawl outside Zambrero

Police have charged a second teenager following a brutal stabbing and pepper spray brawl outside a fast-food shop in Perth’s south on Thursday night that left a young boy fighting for life. A police spokeswoman on Saturday said detectives had charged a 17-year-old man with a string of offences, having on Friday charged a 19-year-old man over the violent incident which occurred outside Zambrero on Ranford Road, Canning Vale just before 7pm. The 17-year-old has been charged with intent to do grievous bodily harm does grievous bodily harm to another, common assault, possession of prohibited drugs with intent to sell or supply cocaine and possession of a controlled weapon. He is due to face court on Saturday, the spokeswoman said. Police alleged he was riding an e-scooter with two other males through the Zambrero carpark when he was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with five other “young males” who were walking back to their vehicle. “During the alleged physical altercation, a 16-year-old male received lacerations to his face, body, and arm,” a police spokeswoman said on Friday. It is understood the boy received multiple stab wounds or lacerations across his face, body and arms before he was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital by St John WA. He remained in a critical condition under sedation in the intensive care unit on Friday. Police said a second victim, a 17-year-old male, was allegedly sprayed in the face with pepper spray, and the third victim, an 18-year-old male, suffered a cut to his nose and irritation to his eyes. Detectives have charged young father Christian Hajje, 19, with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm for his alleged role in the incident. The 17-year-old male from Canning Vale appeared in Perth Children’s Court on Saturday and did not appeal for bail.
