City of Greater Geraldton puts stop on accepting surrendered animals at its facility until further notice

The City of Greater Geraldton will not be accepting surrendered animals at its animal management facility until further notice. The decision which came into effect on Monday, December 1, has been made due to “limited resourcing”. The city has also advised that cat trapping services will also temporarily cease until further notice from Friday, December 5. “This temporary measure will allow city rangers and rehoming partners to provide appropriate care as well as secure placements for the significant number of animals already in care,” the city said in a statement. “The city appreciates your patience whilst this temporary closure is in place and reminds the community that a pet is for life not just for Christmas.”
