Shire of Carnarvon welcomes three interns after partnership with McCusker Centre and UWA

Three interns will put their focus towards improving services at the Shire of Carnarvon after they were selected to work at the local council and help to build on critical projects.

The Shire has partnered with the McCusker Centre and the University of Western Australia to provide internship opportunities to three individuals.

The interns will work with the Shire in various capacities, each focusing on critical projects relating to the Shire’s youth, infrastructure development and communication strategies that align with the Shire’s vision for a vibrant and inclusive community.

Ben Dreyer is interested in strategic project development and has worked diligently on the Stage 2 business case for funding the youth precinct., highlighting the immense value and benefits of a dedicated space for youth engagement.

Erika Neo is described as a highly motivated intern with expertise in marketing and communications and has been assisting the Shire in developing an internal marketing strategy as part of its corporate business plan.

Ms Neo is actively contributing to the Shire’s efforts to enhance its communication channels and engage more effectively with the community.

Another intern, Rylee Sheperd, has a passion for youth development and has contributed in creating a youth respect initiative, aiming to foster respect, resilience, and positive engagement among the young members of the community.

The Shire says the contributions of all three interns will leave a lasting impact on the Shire’s youth, infrastructure development and communication strategies and thanked McCusker Centre and UWA for providing the internship opportunities.
