Australian pet photographer Kerry Martin wants the South West’s most photographic pooches for upcoming book

Is your dog amongst the South West’s most photogenic pooches? That’s what Australian pet pho-dog-grapher Kerry Martin wants to know, as she sets her sights on the South West looking for people’s pets for her upcoming coffee table book — Dog Tales of Australia 2: Pawtraits. In June last year, Martin embarked on a cross-country adventure with her husband Sam and their dogs Keiko and Summer, aiming to stop in every State, and nearly all regions, across Australia. Along the way, she is offering her photography services to dog lovers to be displayed in the upcoming book. Martin’s trek comes after completing a 13-month, 56,400km caravan road trip around Australia, which resulted in the inaugural Dog Tales of Australia — a guidebook of dog-friendly destinations across the country. The last book raised funds to sponsor support dogs for the defence community while the new edition is raising funds for Assistance Dogs Australia. “We’re su-paw excited to be on the road again, this time supporting Assistance Dogs Australia and photographing even more gorgeous dogs than last time,” Martin said. “We’re revisiting cherished spots and exploring uncharted territories, capturing the essence of dogs around Australia in the colourful and diverse landscapes we travel through in this beautiful country.” Martin arrives in the South West on November 10 and is around Bunbury and Collie until November 16. From there the photographer heads to Busselton until November 23 followed by Margaret River until the end of the month. From December 1-7 Martin will be around Bridgetown, Pemberton and Nannup before heading to the Great Southern region. Participation in the project starts from $100, with that amount also donated to Assistance Dogs Australia per session. Spots are limited. “We know that your pets are part of the family, someone you share adventures with and cuddle on difficult, and good, days,” Martin said. “They are the heart and soul by your side that you can’t imagine your life without.
