Local businesses celebrated at East Kimberley Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Excellence Awards

The East Kimberley business community has gathered for the Shining Stars Gala to announce and celebrate the winners of the 2026 East Kimberley Business Excellence Awards. Wyndham Youth Aboriginal Corporation took out both the business of the year award and the for community purpose award while Eloise Baker from The Kimberley General Store won business person of the year. Ord River District Co-operative was honoured with the Innovation award while Gourmet Camp Oven Experience was named the winner of the tourism and hospitality award. Waringarri Aboriginal Arts received the Indigenous excellence award, and Kimberley Green Constructions received the award for customer service. Wrapping up the winners was The Somatic Room which received the new business of the year award after a successful entry into the local market. EKCCI chief executive Keda Bond said the event, at the Lake Kununurra Golf Club on March 28, recognised the local owners, staff and families behind the region’s best businesses. “The East Kimberley got to shine a little brighter at our solar eclipse themed business excellence awards,” she said. “Dignitaries, businesses, members and friends of the chamber came together to celebrate those who help to give this region its heart, hustle and character. “We had a record number of applications across a number of industries and our winners then get the chance to take their East Kimberley story all the way to the regional business awards in Perth next year.”
