Perth traffic: Multiple crashes cause peak-hour chaos on major roads

Perth commuters are stuck in traffic pandemonium on Thursday morning due to several crashes across major roads.
Main Roads has reported a crash on the southbound lanes of Kwinana Freeway at the Russell Road exit, with traffic congestion reported up to Beeliar Drive.
A crash has also occurred on the northbound lanes of Kwinana Freeway, with heavy traffic between Mount Henry Bridge and South Street.

Main Roads has reported Incident Response and tow trucks are on the scene for both freeway incidents, but motorists are still to expect delays.
Various lanes were also closed on Rockingham Road at the Russell Road intersection due to a crash, however Main Roads has reported that traffic has started flowing again.
Tonkin Highway northbound has been closed between Morley Drive and Reid Highway this morning after a man was killed on the road about 2.25am, with authorities urging drivers to take alternate routes.
The array of crashes comes as the state’s road toll hits a decade high, with 112 people having died on WA roads so far this year.
