New kid star of the Show

Twin dairy goats made their way into the world watched by many curious eyes at the Perth Royal Show yesterday.

Serpentine farmer Dave Robinson helped deliver the brothers at the Show's animal nursery about 10am.

Despite being only minutes old, the kids appeared unfazed by all the attention.

But Mullaloo toddler Asha Breedon, 3, was a little less at ease, clutching the younger brother while being nibbled on by a cheeky photobomber.

Mr Robinson, who has 40 goats at his dairy farm, said he had lost count of how many births he had seen.

"I've been a farmer for more than 40 years, so it's all pretty normal to me," he said. "But it's good for city kids who don't get to grow up around animals to see them and get close to them."

Mr Robinson said the brothers were the second set of twins birthed by mother Bellette, a Toggenburg goat.

Activities for animal lovers continue this week, including a miniature pony competition, sheepdog trials and cat show tomorrow.
