Air seeder top of the range
Flexi-Coil has launched the largest air cart in its range, the all new 5850.
The three-tank 20,439-litre capacity 5850 air cart features a new remote controlled auger which will help growers get more done in less time, metering seed and fertiliser with renowned Flexi-Coil accuracy.
Australia manager Steve Mulder said growers were demanding productive and efficient easy-to-use seeders. "With farm sizes growing and an ongoing shortage of seasonal labour, growers need to be as productive as possible," he said.
"The 5850 is built to maximise efficiency, while taking ease of use to a whole new level."
The 5850's ease of use has been enhanced via a new wireless remote control, which enables operators to quickly and easily position the auger from the top of the tank or from ground level, eliminating the need to manually move the auger into place.
"Operators have control over the auger positioning, with the ability to move it into position for quick filling and emptying for the changing of products," Mr Mulder said.
Faster refills are also due to the auger's size.
"The 25cm (10 inch) auger allows the tanks to be filled quickly, maximising efficiency and minimising downtime," Mr Mulder said.
The 5850's down draft metering system and exclusive air velocity sensors deliver seeding accuracy, which is critical for enhancing efficiency, ensuring the job is done right the first time.
"The down draft metering system and air velocity sensors make setting air speed simple, ensuring accurate product metering for multiple products which may differ in size and density, and require different air flow," Steve said.
"Accuracy is maintained by an agitator bar that ensures a smooth product flow, resulting in constant density and supply to the meter roller. The air and product are then mixed in a parallel flow, allowing it to be distributed evenly," Steve said.
"Application rates can be set from the tractor cab with the FlexControl IV+ display with variable rate control functionality, further adding to the ease of use."
"The 5850 is a large quad wheeled cart on equal sized 900/60-R32 R1W tyres for improved floatation and reduced ground pressure, reducing compaction" Steve said.
To ensure operator safety, the 5850 is equipped with a full staircase and a large working platform.
The 5850 is a tow-behind cart with variable drive configuration.
