Bunbury Farmers' market open for Christmas

Bunbury Herald

Shopping for Christmas lunch will be a little easier this year with construction of the new and improved Bunbury Farmer’s Market on track and due for completion by the end of November.

Situated on Vittoria Road in Glen Iris, the new store boasts double the floor size and double the parking of the present Farmer’s Market premises on Blair Street.

Bunbury Farmer’s Market director Kevin Opferkuch said the relocation was necessary because the store had outgrown its location.

“On busy days the store is packed with a line of trolleys from one end to the other,” he said.

“At Blair Street we have 800sq m of floor space and 80 parking bays and on the new site we’ll have 1550sq m and 160 parking bays.”

Now in its 10th year of operation, Bunbury Farmer’s Market has gone from strength to strength on the back of a reputation for outstanding South West produce.

“This is our fourth relocation in a decade and we’ve actually been planning this move for around six years now,” Mr Opferkuch said.

“The local focus remains the same but the new store will be a lot more user friendly, ease parking issues and allow us to extend our product range considerably.”
