For dads looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon, the upcoming Albany Dads Chat Barbecue is set to be the perfect way to enjoy some good food, better company and have some quality time with the kids.

The barbecue will be happening at noon on Sunday April 21 at Emu Point Beach, and it’s open to all dads and their kids.

Albany Dads Chat member and one of the barbecue’s organisers Craig Heal said the event was “a chance to come together, chat and make mates”.

“A nice BBQ, bring a plate of food to share and your own meat and drinks, we’ll supply salads and condiments,” he said.

Between some juicy burgers, tasty sausages and activities for the little ones, there’ll be plenty of fun for everyone, and the family dog is welcome to join in the fun.

The Albany Dads Chat Facebook group has been around for about four years and is the brainchild of Bruce Beamish, Matt Beamish and Paul Terry.

Mr Heal said the group was dedicated to helping and supporting dads, giving them a space to connect with other dads, socialise and ask questions.

Mr Heal said it was not the group’s first barbecue and there were more on the horizon.

“We have run one monthly throughout 2024. We are trying to ramp up the group activities,” he said.

Dads can sign up for the event on the group’s Facebook page or by contacting Mr Heal on 0400 119 614 or email craig@albanytutoring.com.au.
