IN PICTURES: Skaters bring best tricks to Albany’s Snake Run for Fiddy-Fiddy Festival celebrating 50 years

Skaters and bikers flocked to Albany’s iconic Snake Run to show off their best tricks and flips to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Australia’s oldest skatepark. Albany Skateboard Society Inc. hosted the Fiddy-Fiddy Festival ‘26 on Saturday, bringing together generations of skaters to honour the town’s renowned sporting landmarks. The Snake Run was listed on the State Heritage register in 2016, recognising its position as the world’s second-oldest surviving skate park. Despite the showers throughout the day, conditions did little to dampen the spirits of participants, with riders of all ages taking to the concrete and delivering high-energy performances for the crowd. The family-friendly festival also included live music, a barbecue and art displays, adding to the celebratory atmosphere and creating a strong sense of community on the day. Half a century on from its construction, Albany’s Snake Run is still inspiring new generations to roll in.
