Geraldton police’s rapid high harm offender response team is investigating the theft and illegal use of several dirt bikes.

Police say offenders have targeted storage units, farms and other facilities across Geraldton, Dongara and Northampton sub-districts.

“If you or your friends have bikes in storage, please take a moment to check on them,” police posted on social media.

“We’ve seen a noticeable increase in dirt bikes being used around the region in recent weeks, and we want to ensure that any stolen bikes are identified and reported.”

Police said several repeat offenders had already been arrested and charged, and the stolen bikes returned to their owners.

“However, we believe there may still be bikes missing where owners are unaware they’ve been taken,” they said.

A range of bikes have been seen, including an orange KTM 250.

Anyone who discovers their bike has been stolen should contact police on 131 444.
