Prepare for a round two mud bath, say organisers of the Brookton Pony Express dirt bike challenge in Aldersyde

After a stunning opening round in Pingelly earlier this month, the Brookton Pony Express dirt bike challenge is heading to Aldersyde this weekend.
Round two of WA’s premier EnduroCross series features a 16km course with motocross-style jumps that crosses riverbeds and wide-open canola fields around 30km east of Brookton.
Racers will team up in pairs to lap the track.
Willie Thomson, owner of organisers Dirt High Promotions, said conditions would be muddy and slick after recent rain.
“It’s going to be a completely different feel with the amount of rain we have had,” he said.
All eyes will be on the championship-leading pairing of Charlie Creech and Riley Moritz after a bold first-lap move in Pingelly led to an opening-round win.
They toppled polesitters Blake Klansjeck and Scott Hewitt, of Bunbury KTM, who finished a disappointing sixth.
Klansjeck had dominated qualifying, his fastest lap giving him pole position for the main race with a statement 24.3 second gap to second place.
Thomson said Pingelly had been a fantastic opening round.
“We’ve had a high-energy start to the season, and Aldersyde is always a favourite with our riders,” he said.
“We’re heading into river country, so they had better get ready for some mud.”
The action runs from August 1-3, with proceedings starting on Friday night with flat-track motocross.
